Natural latex, in its purest form, is a milky white liquid consisting of tiny rubber particles dispersed in water. Latex is a biodegradable product derived from Nature. It is tapped, like Maple trees for syrup, from the trunks of rubber trees (Hevea Brasiliensis) in Southeast Asia and South America. There are two ways in which latex can be processed. The Talalay process and the Dunlop process.
Latex is the only foam made from the sap of the rubber tree tree. Thus, it is a natural product that's cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and lasts for years and years. But, the real story comes from the sleeping benefits of latex. The surface elasticity of latex mattresses allows for greatly diminished pressure on the body (and on sore joints and muscles), while still beautifully conforming to a sleeper's profile. The result is more comfort and less tossing and turning. Natural latex has outstanding porosity. It breathes, making it a remarkable cool and restful sleeping surface; a surface that has zero transfer of motion. Translation: when one person moves, the other doesn't feel it.
Latex mattresses are great for platform beds, as latex compensates for the lack of a shock-absorbing box spring under the mattress. The result is comfort without feeling the board underneath. Latex works equally well on electric adjustable beds, as it bends with the contours of the underlying mechanism.
100% natural Latex is typically recommended for those people who prefer to remove all synthetic material from their sleeping area. This may be due to allergies, sensitivities to the various compounds introduced by the Talalay process, or other environmental concerns.

The Non-Allergenic Properties of Latex Foam makes it the perfect mattress material for allergy sufferers because it is naturally resistant to the most common household allergen - dust mites. Latex is also resistant to (molds and mildew, which can also exacerbate allergy symptoms. With the average sleeper perspiring a half liter of water each night, latex foam maintains a healthier and more hygienic sleeping environment. (refer to: dust mites).
Latex Mattresses conform to the contours of your body creating a cushion in which no pressure points are built up while you rest. This unique and natural material is remarkable not only for its immediate benefits, but also for its ability to withstand the test of time.
