Momme weight simply indicates the weight of a piece of fabric 110 yards by 45 inches. As
it relates to silk pillowcase quality, a momme weight of 12 to 16 is considered good
quality, while silk in the range of 16 to19 is very high quality – so at 22 momme weight,
our pure mulberry silk Charmeuse pillowcases are literally at the top of the chart!
The silk used to make our silk pillowcases has been carefully hand-woven by true silk
artisans for a more distinctive and far more durable fabric. If properly cared for, our silk

Caring For Your Silk Pillowcases
Although silk has a soft delicate appearance, it is quite durable, and will last for many
years when laundered properly. For best results, always wash silk separately from other
fabrics, as the friction may damage your silk. Wash in cold water on delicate, with a short
spin cycle, using a very mild silk friendly laundry soap. Washing your silk pillowcases in
a mesh laundry bag will add extra protection while laundering. Do not dry your silk in the
dryer as the heat will damage the fabric, if you wish to use the dryer, use only the air fluff
or no heat setting for a few minutes. For best resuIts hang dry, out of direct sunlight, as
the sun can damage the fabric and may fade the color.
